Maura Donovan is a seasoned coach, consultant, facilitator, and former federal manager with 27 years of experience in the US Intelligence Community. She specializes in helping experts—especially in highly technical, high stakes domains—succeed in leadership roles and more effectively communicate their value and their organization’s value to key stakeholders. Maura blends coaching, critical thinking, and empathy to help individuals and teams realize their potential, focusing on unlocking and translating their existing strengths to tackle new challenges. She is particularly passionate about helping individual contributors transition to leadership roles, and helping clients at all levels hone their self-advocacy skills, including co-creating frameworks for more effective performance feedback and decision making about career development. Maura also has a wealth of experience helping leaders navigate challenging workplace relationships—up, down, and across—and facilitating strategic planning and teambuilding to improve group effectiveness.

Why 19&31?
In late May 2019, Washington's baseball team was 19-31, the worst record in the league. They had built an incredible roster of players and coaches over the previous seasons, but kept falling short when it really mattered. After that day in late May, however, they found it—they figured out what was getting in their way individually and as a team, and finally unlocked their potential, beating the odds to become the World Series champions.
